Everything from flying into Anchorage, fishing Petes Creek, Glacier Creek, Ressurection Creek, a hike into Carter and Crescent Lakes, as well as a hike into the Russian River Falls. Continues with our Hallibut Charter and our flight into the Upper Russian Lake and a 12 mile hike out and Chauncy the Girzzly Bear.
A short slide show of some of our friends and some of the fish we have caught over the years
A good sign that spring has sprung. The Brown Blast, fishing for Brown Trout, Coho and Steelhead on Lake Michigan with a bunch of yahoos from an MS.com
Made a quick one day run over to Lake Erie to fish for Walleye. Was a good trip, with some nice fish and a lake that can change from one minute to the next.
A quick trip Up North to do a little River fishing with Mark and his Dad (John)
Took a quick trip to the Upper Pennensula to do a little camping and fishing with some of the guys I work with. Fishing was a little slow, but it was a great trip.
Last part of August we spend 8 days backpacking and fishing the Wind River Wilderness area in Wyoming. An excellent trip, with some great fishing and fantastic scenery. Would call it a once in a lifetime experience, but we're going back next year. A six part series that will take you along with us.
Though Chris and Todd were not able to make the trip and I wound up having to work, I did manage to hook up with the Ohio Crew for a few evenings fishing Salmon on the Big Manistee.
Our first Steelhead trip of the Winter with some of the members of MS.Com, that braved the weather.
A short video of our Steelhead fishing, early December.
Once again, it is Spring and we're hitting Lake Michigan for Brown Blast 2009. While it was a blast, this year, lots of waves, not many Browns, but we still managed some nice Salmon. Just a short video of the trip.
July I took of with eight other guys and we spent two weeks in Alaska, fishing and backpacking. The weather could of been better, but we had a great time. Fishing was fantastic, sights were extraordinary, We traveled around in a U-Haul and a rented SUV, camping in Hope, on Skilak Lake, Quartz Creek Campground and near Peters Creek. On this trip we would fish Pinks in Resurrection Creek, Sockeye on the Kenai, Rainbows and Dollies on Quartz Creek, and Peters Creek. We White Water Rafted on Six Mile Creek and flew into the Upper Russian and spent 4 days hking out. Also spend a couple evening at the Forks Roadhouse
Sharon and I made a quick run north and floated the Big Manistee and the Pere Marquette. Didn't catch a thing, but it was a great trip.
It's fall again in Michigan and time for our annual trip to the Big Manistee. Chris is still not strong enough for a Salmon trip, so I packed Jed along and spend a few days with the "Salmon Crew."
As usual the Brown Blast officially kicks off spring and fishing the Big Lake. Weather was good, fishing was great, catching was a little off, but still a great time.
August 2010,we decided to head back to the Wind River Wilderness area. Instead of circling the mountain we decided to hike halfway around then come back over the top. I looked at the maps, google earth and thought we could make it. Was close, but we did. Had great weather, great fishing and some fantastic scenery
The older I get, the more I find that the important things are where I fish, and who I fish with, rather then just that I'm fishing. We have been very fortunate that we have fished from Alaska to Texas, Wyoming to Michigan. Even more fortunate to have spent that time fishing with some great people.
Had not had any fresh smelt since 1982. Some friends and I decided we would make a short road trip to a lake that has smelt in it. Rather then dipping them we would be fishing for them. With advice from friends we make the trip and ended a 30 stretch of no fresh smelt.
